Taryn Alexander

She was beautiful

if only by the way

her fingers curled

around and made

the strings

The campfire

spit into the night

and tried

to rival the stars.

The constellations

were only temporary

like the freckles

on her back.

Taryn Alexander lives and writes in Tampa, Florida while longing to go back to California. She received her BA from USF in creative writing. Taryn is the proud mother of three chickens and one dog.
