In those days I prayed for Passover,
esteemed Dickens' Estella,
rolled my eyes in the dark.
Oh, how I'd learn
to let go in the Rilkean sense!
And I did learn it
as much as you let me,
but in another version
we are yet lovers:
when you whisper to me
of your heart,
I give
holding on
time to listen.
