A kind of resolution in story.
When Jacob told me
about a man who fixed
a dishwasher flood by drilling
holes in the floor,
then crafting dowels
to fill the holes,
my mind went to a former love’s
morning email saying sorry,
your cat has been run over
by my truck.
In both stories someone was up
in the middle of the night
doing something,
& in the morning
everything was gone.
