Mid-June

The bees are more active.
One flew at me and caught itself
in my hair. I'm embarrassed

I wasn't calmer. Aristotle also
had trouble with bees, thinking
they gather honey after it falls

from the air and forms like dew
with the descent of rainbows
or the rising of stars. Easy

to get confused. Bees themselves
are confused by shampoo.
